It’s time to MINGLE WITH OUR MUTTS on Sunday afternoon at the Franklin County Dog Shelter, from noon - 2 pm.  Join us and more than a dozen area rescue groups on Sunday at 1731 Alum Creek Drive. 

As the temperatures climb into the 90’s for the next few days, pets need special help to stay cool and healthy.  They can suffer from heat exhaustion and heat stroke just as easily as their human owners.

  This week, the Franklin County Animal Shelter helped the USPS unveil a new set of commemorative stamps honoring shelters and rescue pets.

The Capital Area Humane Society is celebrating the Oscars with a sale… it’s the A-cat-emy Awards!

New policies are credited for the growth of successful adoptions at the Humane Society of Delaware County.  Following a meticulous policy development process, staff and volunteers are pleased to announce the new adoption policy is a welcome addition to the professional development of the humane society.

A study by the Humane Society of the United States says Ohio is one of the worst states in the nation for animal protection.  HSUS says the Buckeye State needs more laws on the books to keep animals from being harmed.

The difficult economic climate of 2009 has negatively impacted donations. Friends of the Shelter need help ASAP to support the Franklin County Dog Shelter.
