In Cincinnati, there’s a new pantry for pets.  It offers help for people who can’t bear to part with their animals even as they struggle to put food on their own tables.

The Capital Area Humane Society is celebrating the Oscars with a sale… it’s the A-cat-emy Awards!

New policies are credited for the growth of successful adoptions at the Humane Society of Delaware County.  Following a meticulous policy development process, staff and volunteers are pleased to announce the new adoption policy is a welcome addition to the professional development of the humane society.

A study by the Humane Society of the United States says Ohio is one of the worst states in the nation for animal protection.  HSUS says the Buckeye State needs more laws on the books to keep animals from being harmed.

The difficult economic climate of 2009 has negatively impacted donations. Friends of the Shelter need help ASAP to support the Franklin County Dog Shelter.

A dog from the Union County Humane Society in Marysville is going to be featured in “Puppy Bowl VI” on Super Bowl Sunday.  The show airs from 3pm - 5pm on Animal Planet.

From the Cleveland Plain Dealer:  A grass-roots effort to close Ohio’s only dog auction, in Holmes County, and outlaw dog auctions statewide continues, with voters trying to gather 120,700 signatures on petitions to put the issue before state legislators.
